School begins

Another school year is underway. This morning was the opening ceremonies...always a fun morning. The senior class always gets to walk in carrying the flags of all the countries represented in the student body. There are around 40 countries this year, with approx. 315 students enrolled in BFA.

Our student body president giving his speech in front of the new banner which displays the theme for the year, taken from Isaiah 51:1. (Our nephew designed the banner!)

Our administrator interviewing 'the' 1st grade. This is the first time in a lot of years that there is only one student in this class.

Sunday evening walk

Couldn't pass up taking a picture of this beautiful rose in our backyard.

This is one of our favorite houses in our village.

This picture really does not capture how beautiful the sky was this evening.

We have always appreciated the neat way wood is stacked here in Germany. It is quite an art and believe me...it is not easy to get it to look like this!

What do you think...?

Is this enough to play with or what?

'Ladies' week at Grandma Meier's home!

I just returned to Germany after spending some very special time at my Mom's house. Sharla and Chiara, Shawna, nieces Jena and Chandra(and daughters, Jalena and Kianna) had been planning this for quite some time! As you can tell from the pictures, we made some very special memories!
We will treasure the 'four generation' pictures!

We all got tired of fighting the heat and mosquitoes. Chiara has had it!

The four grand-daughters having fun with Grandma!!

Great-grandma, Oma and Chiara. Chiara is wearing the sweater G-grandma made her.

An afternoon at the pool was enjoyed by all...even a few extras!

An evening at Uncle Dan's farm was great fun. Making friends with the cats was a little challenging.

We had a picnic, roasted hot dogs followed by marsh mellows and smores.

Farmer Coco! as Sharla named this picture.

Everyone enjoyed the tea party complete with cucumber sandwiches, scones, tarts and of course, tea... or was it sugar, with tea?

The great grandkids had their own table and had a wonderful time!

My Mom's three sisters.

My brother and his wife.

It was so much fun to see Chiara again.

Chiara loves getting a bath. The sink is almost too small but she doesn't seem to mind.

I was able to fly from Seattle to Calgary with Sharla and Chiara. Chiara seemed to enjoy her very first flight.
