It is pumpkin time!

It is hard to believe that only a few years ago, we could not get pumpkins anywhere here in Germany! That has certainly changed as there are quite a few villages that have these kinds of displays with the pumpkins and squash for sale. Americans most often bake something sweet with pumpkins while the German folk treat it as a vegetable. Many eating places feature pumpkin soup and it is VERY tasty!

Lacoste Bakery closes...

Meet the Niehues family! For years Michael has blessed the community with wonderful creations at his local bakery, 'Lacoste'. He has especially blessed BFA with many discounts and extras, the Candlelight dinners with complimentary desserts and much, much more...all this delivered with a big smile! For those of us who enjoyed a good cup of coffee, his little coffee shop offered a place for quiet conversations and get-to-gethers! We were so disappointed to learn that they were closing their shop at the end of August! This afternoon we had a reception for them so that we could tell them how much they have blessed us and how much we are going to miss them!

Kristi and Emily come for dinner...

It was fun to have Kristi and Emily with us for dinner tonight. Both are new to BFA's teaching staff. Kristi is also the daughter of Sharla's pastor in Seattle. It was a fun evening, getting to know these gals a little better.

Nothing like a little help...

Katie was my helper for the afternoon...we made apple crisp, cleaned the patio and watered some thirsty plants! Next stop...the park and then ice cream at the Ice Cafe!

Jesse on his way to work!

Jesse rides his bike to work each day. It is up-hill both ways with a valley in between. He gets a good work-out plus works hard all day! What a man!

Our little football fans! Sure do love and miss these little girls!

View of the Swiss Alps

I took these pictures this am. What a surprise on such a cloudy day! I drove over a hill about 3 k's from our house and this was the view...well, kind of!! It was so much better in real! Click on the pictures to make them bigger. It really is quite amazing! (Grrr to the power lines!)

I sure am enjoying some of the new roses I planted this spring. Only God could paint this beauty! I am so blessed to get to enjoy it and wanted to share it with you!

Amazing sunset!
