Christmas Market

This week is the opening of the Christmas Market in Freiburg. I took advantage of a nice sunny day and took it in. A couple of the photos are blurry as there was some wind moving the lights around and also there were LOTS of people who were on the go as well.
This is what I saw when I entered the area where the booths are set up. Nothing like a fat 'ole German wurst to start your shopping. They were selling these like there was no tomorrow!






This booth had items that were all homemade of wool. Here the booth-keeper is demonstrating one of her wrap around head bands. She is wearing a red one. You wrap it around and around your head and then you loop the little foo-foo under, through and up to keep it in place.(see the side of her head-band) She was working with some very fun ladies who were really enjoying trying everything on their shopping spree!
As you can see below, some of the booths really had a lot of stuff. You really had to concentrate to see everything!

Still enjoying fall

These geraniums caught my eye this AM, still blooming like it is summer! It is not that warm here, I think they are just toasty sitting on the window sill.

I took a walk and here are some more pictures of fall.

I LOVE being a Grandma and...

Look what I found today in the grocery store...yep! The grocery stores have great prices on items such as these little boots and a whole lot of other loot, which changes weekly. I could not resist plus I knew that Chiara needed boots. I hope she likes them and I hope they fit! (there is a zipper up the inside of the boot so no bothering with the laces, easy on and off!)

S'mores here we come!

So what could be better than roasting marshmallows in the dark, in the cold with the Stemple children. All weekend we waited to do the campfire...Sunday night was going to be the night until a strong wind blew in and made it a little dangerous for such an adventure. So we lit the BBQ and had our s'mores! A good time was had by all! and the neighbors thought we were...??

Happy 94th Birthday Mom!

I wanted you to see my wonderful Mom. Today is her birthday. I wish I could be there to help her celebrate!

Sorry for the long delay in posting something on here! We have been so busy with lots of fun things going on. We got to spend another weekend with the Stemple children. I have a few pictures from our crazy marshmallow roast that I will post shortly. This week has just flown by. I drug out my sewing machine for the first time in a long time and am working on some projects for our house and a couple of things for Christmas. Thanks for your patience.
