A visit to Washington DC

The White House...notice the guy on the roof. Didn't know he was there when I took the picture.

Once again, it is so much more breathtaking in real life. I am so enjoying watching spring and summer come to life...again! Our part of Germany is SO full of color and a marvelous showing of God's creative handiwork! Every day I see something new and am reminded of the Creator's intricate detail to the tiniest of things.

Pigeons are everywhere over here. There were a couple of these FLYING around in the food court at the Frankfurt train station yesterday. This one got kind of friendly! (He stole that french fry!!)

Saying farewell...

My sister, Sandee, and her husband, Tim, are going to be leaving BFA at the end of this school year. Sandee has been here 29 years and Tim has been here 24 years, serving as our administrator for the past 11 years. We are going to really miss them! Last night a farewell was held in their honor as well as a blessing as they move to Colorado Springs to work with ACSI.
Below, a string ensemble opened the evening.

Some of the many friends that came. (Sandee's small group gals helped serve)

Memory book in the making...a collection of pictures and notes from friends.

Some of the decorations put together by the small group Sandee has been a part of and a few close friends.

Little girls at play

Katie making a daisy chain...
All it took was a little tub of soapy water and the play dishes. These three little girls were occupied for close to two hours. They were soaked, the patio was soaked and everything around them was soaked...but hey, it didn't matter, they were outside and had a great time!

20 years have passed since we last saw Judy(middle). We were so blessed and delighted to have her visit us this weekend. She was a student with us in the Sonne dorm. It was just great to hear how God has blessed her with a wonderful husband, family and ministry. Thanks so much for coming and spending time with us, Judy! It really encouraged us more that you will ever know! More pictures to follow, we hope!
